Plantar Fasciitis is a common and often debilitating condition of the foot found in both male and females. If addressed promptly and properly, rarely should it need surgical intervention to fix.

There are many factors that can lead to this condition. First, we have many small bones in the foot that often become subluxated (lost movement in the joints between them) which cause faulty biomechanics that place undue stress on the bottom of the foot. Second, we have various muscles and ligaments in the foot and lower leg that can be dysfunctional and cause extra stress upon both the top and bottom of the foot. Third, we can have misalignments in our knees, hips, and pelvis that can lead to plantar fasciitis as well. Most often, all three play some part in the patient developing this condition. Most people will deal with the pain for some time before finally seeking help- unfortunately, the longer we wait, the longer it takes and harder it is for the doctor to fix.

There are things you can do at home to help. See the best stretches in the picture below to get started. For the problem to go away and never come back again, most will need to see their Chiropractor for proper evaluation and treatment. Our new Chiropractor, Dr. Lillee, would be happy to safely help you, and keep you from the need for drugs and surgery! At the same time, she will identify other dysfunction in your body and address it, preventing those things from becoming a health problem in the future. You can schedule your visit with her HERE.
